Think in routes, as well as rooms
A hall or stairway may connect every occupied room. Tell us which routes need to stay usable, where furniture will remain and which marks concern you most before we agree the cleaning sequence.
Name the suburb and the correct door
Include the full Porirua address and suburb, whether that is central Porirua, Whitby, Waitangirua, Kenepuru or another part of the city. Add instructions for the entrance you want us to use. The street address alone may not identify a rear unit or the best equipment route.
Describe shared driveways, gates, stairs and any building entry arrangements. If you are providing a parking space, say where it is and whether someone needs to make it available. We’ll confirm the practical details when discussing your quote.
Draw the path people take through the home
Start at the entrance and follow the route to the lounge and bedrooms. Mark heavily used sections and any spill locations, then list the rooms around that route. This helps us understand where cleaning is most important and what needs to be kept clear.
| Part of the home | Information to add |
|---|---|
| Entrance and hall | Traffic lanes, a connecting passage and the route people will need. |
| Stairs and landing | Number of flights, access to upper rooms and any loose or damaged edges. |
| Living spaces | Movable items, heavy furniture and open carpet areas. |
| Bedrooms | Rooms available together or separately, and beds remaining in place. |
For carpet-care questions and the wider service, see carpet cleaning in Wellington. The room map gives us the property detail needed to discuss that service in Porirua.
Plan where people and pets will be
Tell us whether you will be home during the clean and which rooms must remain accessible. Agree a waiting space for pets and keep loose items away from the equipment route. Furniture movement belongs in the plan too: identify what you can clear and ask about anything heavy or fixed.
For a home with an upstairs sleeping area, discuss how the stairway and bedrooms will be sequenced. For a single-level home, consider whether the hall is the only route between rooms. We’ll talk through the actual layout with you rather than applying one sequence to every property.
Keep previous treatments in the picture
Send any care label or manufacturer information you have. For marks, explain what caused them, when they appeared and what has already been used. Include a wide photo and a closer view if possible. Different carpet fibres and existing wear need different consideration.
Use our carpet spill and stain guide to organise that information. At handover, ask us about drying, furniture and normal foot traffic for the agreed cleaning method, and share those instructions with the household.
A Porirua carpet plan to adapt
“Our Porirua home has a carpeted entrance, lounge, stairs and upstairs bedrooms. We need to keep a route to one bedroom available. We’ll clear toys and small tables; the beds stay. Please assess a lounge spill and the stair traffic marks. The entrance is behind a gate off the shared drive.”
If you also need help with kitchens, bathrooms and routine floors, outline that separately in your Porirua house cleaning enquiry.
Your questions, answered
Can you assess a mark I have already treated?
Tell us which product you used and what happened afterwards. That history, together with carpet-care information and photos, helps us discuss the next step.
Should stairs be listed separately?
Yes. Include the stairs, landings and connecting areas explicitly so the access plan and quote cover them.
